Single traveler only if you're not picky
The place was clean and even had fresh towels every day. Plus, the staff were really professional and kind, which made a difference!
It wasn’t exactly a bargain but acceptable given the location.

The pool was ok.
This was the worst experience of my life! I had to pay for the air conditioning, and with temperatures reaching 41°C, it was unbearable. The staff were polite, but they did absolutely nothing when a couple started fighting at 3 am, disrupting our sleep. The breakfast was poor, and the toilets were old and dirty.

Basic room, clean, decent for the price. Close to the beach. Limited breakfast choice. Pool area could use better maintenance. Enjoyed darts and ping-pong during the stay.

Had a grand time! The rooms were cleaned daily, with a lovely balcony to enjoy the evenings. The breakfast had plenty of choice, really got me going. Just wish the shower was a bit bigger, but all in all, solid stay!

the bathroom could use a shower curtain.

The room was decent for the price. It was clean and had a fridge, which was nice. But the beds were super hard, not the comfiest. I could hear everything outside, which made it hard to sleep. Just a basic setup, but it served its purpose for exploring.

Nothing to improve.

great access to beach, dining, and local attractions
The hotel is conveniently located just a few steps from great restaurants like Red Chilli Indian Restaurant and Bella Ellada, making it so easy to enjoy delicious meals after a day of exploring. I loved that the beach and promenade were also within a short walk, giving me the perfect chance to unwind by the sea.

The location of Popi Star is pretty convenient. It's right in the middle of Gouvia, close to restaurants and shops, making it easy to explore. The breakfast spread impressed me. lots of options like eggs, ham, cheese, and fresh pastries. I also liked that my room, while basic, was clean and had a fridge to keep drinks cold. I got free Wifi, which was a relief for my kids. the noise level was a huge downside. My room faced the road and I could hear everything from the reception area, making it hard to sleep. Plus, the air conditioning came with a hefty extra cost of €6 per day and wasn't very quiet. A remote control for it cost another fee, which felt a bit cheap. The pool area could use some sprucing up. it looked neglected and the sunbeds were worn out. there should be proper curtains or at least a shower curtain in the bathroom to make it more comfortable. if you're looking for a basic place with a good breakfast and a central location, it fits the bill, but don't expect luxury.
